I began my professional life as a physician, but after decades of practicing medicine, I became an author and a coach. It began as a creative diversion from the moral injury facing so many doctors today and partly because I wanted to speak out about our culture in a companionable way.<\/p>

Then I found coaching, and I rediscovered the joy of connecting with other individuals and helping them achieve their goals. Suddenly, I could spend as much time as needed with my clients and stop worrying about how much revenue I was generating for the corporate moguls who have monopolized the healthcare industry.<\/p>

And writing? It\u2019s so much fun! I started with thrillers, medical and political, and soon added dystopian themes. Urban science fiction that eventually moved to outer space, but all based on heavily researched facts, so the stories remain possible, if not always plausible.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I\u2019ve always loved animals,\u00a0 science, and nature, and cats frequently appear in my novels. In The Meraki Effect<\/em><\/a>, the fate of our heroes literally hangs on a Maine Coon\u2019s love for a little girl. Perhaps I should have been a vet\u2026<\/p>

After being adopted by a stray who arrived at my door one winter afternoon, I wrote Whiskers in the Wild<\/em> in an effort to educate the many ailurophiles\u2014or cat lovers\u2014who struggle like I did to understand and assist our furry felines when they face tragedy. They are truly extraordinary creatures.<\/p>

I\u2019m a certified coach since 2019, and I work with writers to get their manuscripts written and self-published. Wherever you are on your author journey, I\u2019d love to help.<\/p>

Beyond authors, I also coach individuals on stress management: how to take back their lives and jump off the hamster wheel of continuous material productivity. Initially, I framed it as coaching \u201cburnout,\u201d but that term elicits more pity than compassion in HR circles, and many professionals shy away from admitting they fit that description. So now, I just call it stress management. Because what is burnout anyway, if not being stressed to the max, finding little joy in life, and seeing no end in sight?<\/p>

I utilize many of the precepts of Positive Intelligence\u00ae, which has changed my life in so many ways. It accelerates productivity, improves relationships, and elevates well-being through short and simple daily measures.<\/p>
